Food Worker Certification

A part of Foodlink's mission is to provide information and education to our community.
Foodlink is offering L1 and L2 Food Worker Certification Training to meet the Monroe County's food safety requirements. All Profits go directly to support Foodlink's Initiatives. We have held courses at: (1) Foodlink, 1999 Mt. Read Blvd, Rochester NY 14615; (2) off-site at a meeting room; and (3) at a food establishment's site. Classes are open to the pubilc and any individuals in the food service industry, but are limited to 25 participants.

The Monroe County Department of Public Health requires the presence of at least one trained Food Worker (L2) during all operating times of kitchen, bar and food service facilities. Additionally, High and Medium Risk facilities, (as well as operators of more than one pushcart), are required to have a full time employee on record for the establishment with a certification from a nationally recognized food handler training program that will designate them as a Food Handler in Charge (L1). The presence of an L1 employee can also satisfy the requirement at any time for an L2 worker.
